Not the clearest link, but along the lines of “the changes that technology is bringing to urban life”. While the physical installation itself may not be related to “cybercities”, you can be sure that some of the multiple layers of hardware/software running the system are internet-enabled, and are likely to soon be cellular-enabled. Thinking about a high-efficiency system, it seems likely that rather than giving one spot to one resident/customer, the system will slowly learn the parking patterns of the residents and enable, for instance, day parking in spots that are unused by 9 to 5 workers.
